Eminem has always been known to button the envelope. From his lyrics to his videos, his feuds with other celebrities, to his spousal relationship, he has been creating controversy ever since 24-hour interval i. His lyrics range from killing his wife, to committing suicide, and bash celebrities at every turn. He has been said to be homophobic, misogynistic, and utterly violent. However, throughout all of this anger and inappropriate lyrics fulled with vulgarity, one can't deny that he has created a unique style all his own, and that although inappropriate, his lyrics are creative. Information technology is this inventiveness that he uses to talk near electric current issues not only in this society but in his life likewise, and that has won him countless awards, including an Oscar. His song "Love the Style You lot Prevarication" off of his improvement album Recovery in 2010, is a perfect example of this. In this song, he not merely features Rihanna who was driveling past her in one case boyfriend Chris Brown, but talks about his ain abusive history with his wife Kim. Information technology is through these personal, artistic, lyrics from both of these superstars that we are able to see the fight between loving someone and that crazy feeling you have, and the violence that can come out of that passion, played out passionately between both the actors and the musicians. But through all of this passion, one can't help but wonder if "Love the Manner Yous Lie" glamorizes domestic violence, demeaning women forth the style.

This vocal portrays a couple who one moment are lusting after each other, stating "You always dear somebody then much, you could barely breathe when you with 'em? Got that warm fuzzy feeling, aye, them chills, used to get 'em", with the video showing the couple sleeping with each other, kissing passionately, to the next moment when the couple is violently fighting, stating " now you're getting' fuckin' sick of lookin' at 'em. You swore you'd never hit 'em, never do nada to hurt 'em now you're in each others face spewing venom in your words when you spit 'em," with the video showing the couple screaming at each other and punching fists into the wall, while all the while, Rihanna belts the chorus "that's all right considering I like the way it hurts"-

While this song and video are raising the topic of domestic violence, with the lyrics accurately demonstrating the troubled relationship of love and hate, the male believing that things got out of hand and that he should have walked away sooner than he did, simply knowing that in reality he never would have, and the struggle that they go through, loving each other merely fighting violently, some of the lyrics and the video seem to give the complete reverse message to viewers- that domestic violence can exist in a sense "sexy" and a turn on for a couple. In the video, not merely is the female person, Meghan Fox, a superstar, known in part for her sex appeal, parading around in a tiny tank pinnacle and underwear, but she seems to exist almost turned on when her boyfriend in the video knocks her up against the wall, being so passionately involved in the fighting that the side by side second brings such lustful passion involved in wanting him right at that moment, sending a message to viewers that someone abusing you can be a turn on and make your dearest more passionate, turning " I like the way it hurts" into glamorizing and demeaning women who are abused by their spouses, telling them that even though you lot are getting abused, you like how it hurts, and can "want" that person every bit they are hitting yous or pushing you up against the wall.

This song and video bring up many issues that we have talked about in form, mainly the event of Masculinity and the ability that men feel they need to have over women. In the lyrics we see Eminem rapping near how although he loves her and is passionate almost her, saying " wait where you going? 'I'yard leaving yous' no you ain't come back" he even so wants to have that control over her by making her stay and saying that "If she ever tries to fuckin' get out again, I'ma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire." These lyrics and the way that the video portrays the control that the male has over the adult female, telling her when she can and can't leave, hitting her simply making her stay, shows the violence that the males take and makes them believe that they are  more masculine and puts him in control over the relationship. Past not letting the woman talk to another man or letting her get out and analytical her and abusing her to take that "masculine" control over her, while she parades around in her underwear and tight tank top, nosotros see the issue of not only command merely the strive for masculinity that we see so frequently in our culture and take talked about in class repeatedly.
